Together, we can #TurnTheTide.

Ireland’s tourism industry is on life-support

Covid-19 has hit Ireland hard, shuttering countless businesses in hospitality and tourism. International tourists were the lifeblood of businesses that underpin local employment and community services. They are the fabric of a culture that is cherished by so many.

While vaccination programs provide hope, resuscitating Ireland’s tourism sector requires innovation, imagination, and the influence of Irish people globally. We need to inspire international visitors to travel again and support small businesses, restaurants, pubs, hotels, crafters, and artisans to continue to deliver our world-famous “céad míle fáilte”.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is VisitIreland.TV?

VisitIreland.TV is a county-by-county video guide to Ireland. The guide is made up of 32 videos – one for each of Ireland’s incredible counties. Each video will promote the county’s best attractions and showcase its great entertainment, dining, and shopping experiences.

Who is promoting VisitIreland.TV?

VisitIreland.TV is an initiative of InflightFlix International Ltd., an Irish company based in Shannon, Co. Clare.  InflightFlix was founded in 2018 by Martin O’Regan and Maurice Supple. Our team has produced more than 1,000 visitor experience videos and destination video guides for airlines, hotels, tour operators, and car hire companies , which have been viewed over 10 million times in 150 countries.

Where will VisitIreland.TV be distributed?

The videos will be distributed to millions of viewers via airline inflight entertainment systems, hotel bedroom TVs, Irish pubs and restaurants throughout North America, Sky Channel 191, and through dedicated channels and apps on YouTube, Roku, Amazon FIre, Apple TV and social media.

Through our main business at InflightFlix, we have developed an unrivalled travel content distribution network that includes major international airlines and hotel bedroom TV operators.

What format will the content be produced in?

Each of Ireland’s 32 counties will be represented in one of eight one-hour programmes, showcasing four counties per programme. For channels where shorter formats are more suitable, individual counties will feature within standalone 15 minute videos.

Who decides what gets filmed?

We will work with tourism industry partners and VisitIreland.TV sponsors to determine the list of  experiences to be featured.

What is the value of the initiative to each county?

Through generous contributions from supporters in each county we will deliver a global advertising campaign spanning 2021, 2022 and 2023 worth over $3 million to every county.

VisitIreland.TV will promote 30 great experiences in each county. Assuming a video production cost of €1,500 per experience, each county will benefit from €45,000 worth of premium video footage.

We’re distributing the videos on major airline inflight entertainment systems, at no charge to the county’s tourism industry. For comparison, a 30-second inflight advertisement on a major Middle Eastern carrier costs $250,000 per month. A major US carrier charges $20,000 per month to host on-demand video content.
